The Social Administration provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for public authority functions, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Administration has a special responsibility for children, youth, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are about 500 employees who, with strength-based methods, provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equal, fair, and safe manner.

The Position and Responsibilities
We are looking for a social worker for Investigation of Children and Youth 3 who wants to contribute to creating safety and long-term solutions for children and youth in Botkyrka.
With us, you will work on investigating and assessing the needs of children and youth for protection and support according to the Social Services Act. You will be responsible for the entire investigation process, from assessment to decision and follow-up of interventions. When there is a need for interventions, you will plan together with the child, parents, and other important individuals what support can best create safety and stability in daily life. The work involves close collaboration with the child, guardians, and other key actors such as schools, preschools, and health care. You will work based on the Signs of Safety method, which is based on participation and clear goals in working with families.
Your main responsibilities:
- converse with children and parents to gain a deeper understanding of their situation, needs, and strengths
- follow up to ensure that decided interventions yield results and adjust support as needs change
- collaborate with guardians, networks, and actors such as schools, preschools, and health care to create a comprehensive support system around the child
- document investigations, decisions, and follow-ups continuously in the operational system Lifecare.

We Offer You
At Investigation of Children and Youth 3, 26 employees work with extensive experience in child protection work, including 20 social workers, 3 senior social workers, a unit manager, an administrator, and two staff members providing case support. The unit is part of the area of Children and Youth, which consists of a total of four investigation units that collaborate closely to ensure legally sound and high-quality social work. Together, we develop our working methods, create sustainable routines, and strengthen collaboration both within the administration and with external actors. Currently, there is active development work underway to further enhance the quality of our investigations and improve collaboration between units.
The unit is characterized by strong collaboration and a culture where we support and take care of each other while also having fun together. As a new employee, you will receive a clear introduction to the work and ongoing support from the senior social worker and experienced colleagues. We have access to supervision, MI coaches, and Signs of Safety coaches who provide support in daily work. We offer ongoing professional development and training in areas such as Signs of Safety and other relevant fields. You Who Are Applying to Us
You have a degree in social work and documented experience of public authority functions within social services. You also have experience in writing investigations and making decisions according to the Social Services Act, where you document and justify your assessments in a clear and professional manner.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience in investigative work concerning children and youth.
- Training in Signs of Safety, BBIC, and MI.
- Experience with the documentation system Lifecare.
- A valid driver's license (B).
The work as a social worker within Investigation of Children and Youth requires you to be structured and enjoy working methodically in an environment where multiple investigations are ongoing simultaneously. You plan, prioritize, and document your work meticulously to ensure that each decision is legally sound and based on reliable information. You have an analytical approach and can see the whole picture in each case while keeping focus on the details that are crucial for the assessment.
You are confident in your professional role and can make well-founded decisions even in pressured or complex situations. At the same time, you are collaborative and contribute to an open and solution-oriented work climate together with colleagues, guardians, and collaborative actors such as schools and health care.
